Tina Neel, D.V.M.

Oklahoma City Veterinarian
Dr. Tina Neel is married to Sam Neel, who is also her business partner. Together they raised their two grown sons, Scott and Hank Buchanan. Dr. Neel is also Keishia's grandmother, who is Scott and Pilar's daughter.
Dr. Neel was raised on a dairy farm in Lawton, Oklahoma, which cultivated her love for animals and family. Along with attending mass at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Dr. Neel also enjoys tailgating with her family and friends at the Oklahoma State University football games. And she attends nearly every OSU basketball home game. Her other interests include reading, playing a domino game called "42", and gardening vegetables and herbs. Dr. Neel also enjoys bike riding and has entered several bicycle touring races including the 25 mile ride at the Hotter 'n Hell Bicycle Race in 2005.

A visionary, Dr. Neel enjoys helping young people and veterinary professionals alike to visualize and achieve their dreams. She speaks at numerous junior high, high school, and college campuses. She mentors veterinary students and sponsors many fourth year veterinary students from OSU as well as other out of state universities.
As a leader within her profession, Dr. Neel is a member of numerous associations and committees including the Oklahoma County and State Veterinary Associations, the AVMA, Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Association, American Veterinary Informatics, and is an American Animal Hospital Association affiliate. She has also received the 2005 Distinguished Alumnus Award from the OSU College of Veterinary Medicine which is an award from her peers.
As a community servant, she also serves on multiple volunteer committees. She gives her time to the OVMA State Fair Spay and Neuter Surgery Committee, writes a Pet Health column for The Daily Oklahoman, is a committee member and speaker for Oklahoma City University's Book Fair Children's Area, and is the veterinary consultant for the El Reno Animal Welfare Facility design team.
As an innovator, Dr. Neel has a modern and progressive practice philosophy that is client centered. She also embraces modern technology, and speaks at numerous veterinary conventions across the nation teaching others how to incorporate modern technology into their practices. Dr. Neel also leads the veterinary profession in many other areas as well. As an example, she was a partner and associate of the first emergency hospital in Oklahoma City in 1979, and began the first 24 hour full-service veterinary hospital in the state of Oklahoma in 2004.
Dr. Neel graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1979 with a Master of Science degree in physiology and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. She has spent a lifetime serving her family, her community, her clientele and their pets. Her strengths lie in client communications, diagnostics, and surgery with specific areas of interests in technology and preventative health care. Her professional goals in her own words are, "…to help pets to live a long and healthy life as pain free and comfortable as possible."
